Bournemouth 1950

This is my brother, Trevor, I don't know what time of the year this holiday was; or who was on it with Trevor but some of the pictures indicate quite cold weather. My suspicion is that this would be late September or even October and Trevor was being taken away for a little respite from the devastation the family was feeling. Certainly in August of that year Dad, brother Mike and I were camping at the model sportsdrome at Eaton Bray. Dad won the Pteradactyl Trophy outright but we had to leave for home early since Mike was obviously not well. The doctor was called and Mike was admitted to Whitley Isolation hospital (ironically, close to where we had lived in Coventry). It was confirmed that Mike had Poliomyelitis, he never suffered paralysis but became unconscious and eventually died on 6th September 1950.

One thing I perhaps ought to point out. I do not use the standard colours for links, on a black background they are not that easy to see therefore you will find
