It all started with this. A photograph album which is more that 70 years old. It is a sort of illustrated diary of a short cycling holiday undertaken by my father and his young brother, Howard and Jimmy Boys. With 8 years difference in their ages it might have seemed an unlikely pairing but read on. I have tried to show exactly what the album looks like but it means you will probably have to scroll a bit to see it all. My hope is that you will be able to read the text as it was written but in case you can't I have replicated the text below the images. As the album exists the script sometimes runs onto a following page and I have followed this scheme. Before criticising the manner of the writing please remember that attitudes were quite different in 1930.
